Happy October! So happy that Fall is finally here and leaves are starting to change colors. That’s what I love most about living in Northern Virginia, particularly where we live in Oakton. It reminds me of my childhood in Normandie with its green fields, mature trees and endless fenced backyards.
Growing up in France, it was a family tradition to go for a walk on Sunday afternoons after a long family lunch. Sundays in France are like holidays. With most stores closed and restaurants open, it’s the one day of the week focused on your friends, family and food! Hubby and I try to replicate this tradition but it can be challenging with the kids sport activities or playdates with their friends. I have to say that it’s the one day I set aside each week to slow down and enjoy what I truly love doing like cooking and blogging!
Last Sunday was the perfect crisp fall day. Our son was visiting from University of Virginia so I was so happy we could all go for a walk! Luckily we don’t need to go far. Our next door neighborhood has many wooded trails and stables. It was also the perfect weather for wearing my new camel faux suede drape jacket and wool floppy hat! Unfortunately, that same exact jacket is already sold out but I’ve linked a similar style here.
What about you? How do you like spending your Sundays? Do you set aside a day in the week for yourself?
As always, thanks for reading!
A bientôt ♥

What a nice Sunday family tradition! A little exercise is always good, too! I love to blog and clean on Sunday to set myself up for the week.
