When it comes to my favorite Fall wardrobe staples, dresses are essentials. I personally like to keep my dresses pretty classic so I can use accessories, tights, blazers and boots to get more of a modern classic style. With that said, if floral prints are more of your style, you might want to invest in a floral bohemian dress. The vintage bohemian trend also called Boho Chic is still big this fall.
Here are a few of my favorite dresses that have become my go-to’s fall style:
1. Short Black Jersey Dress
This is a basic jersey dress that I bought last year at H&M. I love how soft and comfortable it is. You can accessorize with a large printed scarf, lace or opaque tights and ankle boots.
2. Sleeveless Black Dress with Leather Details
This is the perfect dress for work. Paired with a moto jacket (see below) or a basic black blazer and pumps, you’re all set to impress! What I love about an all black dress is you can wear a statement jewelry piece like this necklace from J.Crew which completes the outfit quite nicely.
3. Slip Dress
Slip dresses are flowy and super comfortable. You can wear it over leggings and a biker jacket as featured here. Francesca’s has a great selection of slip dresses which is where I bought this one.
4. Blue Tweed Dress
Tweed, pink and fur according to W. Magazine are the top fashion trends for fall 2016. While wearing tweed can be perceived as very ladylike, some designers have adopted a more modern style like Tory Burch. This particular Tory Burch dress fits like a glove. I can’t wait to wear it with my new over-the-knee suede black boots. For a more elegant look, I pair it with nude patent pumps.
5. Sleeveless Black Evening Dress
We all need a Little Black Dress (LBD) or two in our fall wardrobe. This dress is perfect for a dinner in town or an after work party. I love the deep V-Neck and lace details. I bought it a few years ago at Mango. Check out their website. They have a nice selection of chic evening dresses.
6. Long Sleeve Black Lace Dress
I love the all over lace and black slip underneath. This dress from Anthropologie is so comfortable yet very chic! Black lace dresses are still very much in style this fall and holiday season.
