While we do not have the five weeks of paid vacations here in the US, my husband and I try to take at least one or two weeks of vacation each year. Now that the kids are older, we like to explore new places with them and teach them new cultures. I have to say we have a soft spot for the Caribbean. Our last two summer vacations were in the Caymans Islands and Bermuda. I plan on blogging about these two trips later on this year – when the weather gets colder and we all have winter blues!
This summer, we’re going to France so our kids can get to know my culture a little bit better (and practice their French!). We’re spending one week in the Picardie region, also known as horse country, which is a short hour north of Paris. We’ll get to visit both the City of Lights and the beautiful green countryside of Chantilly. We’re very lucky to be staying in Château de Montvillargenne, pictured here:
We’re spending the second week in the South of France, in a small village called Mougins, which is ten minutes north of Cannes. We’re renting a “Mas de Provence” villa style via Airbnb, in the heart of “La Pinède” which is the typical vegetation in the Côte d’Azur.
Going back to France is always a great source of inspiration. Stay tuned for my upcoming posts filled with new adventures!
Happy Summer!
