I got to visit Colorado for the first time on our family trip last week visiting my brother who lives in Denver.
We didn’t do much sight seeing while in Denver as we simply wanted to spend time with our families. My brother and his wife have two small kids and it was great for our kids to spend time with their little cousins.
We stayed at the Halcyon, a boutique hotel located downtown in the heart of Cherry Creek walking distance to chic boutiques, cafés and restaurants.
The hotel offers many cool amenities like a kitchen counter in the lobby where they serve free breakfast and drinks 24/7; a gear garage with bicycles for complimentary use; a rooftop pool and bar with beautiful views of the Mile High City and a French line of body products. Totally my kind of hotel!
One of my favorite thing to do when visiting a new city is to shop at local boutiques. With summer almost over, I got a head start on my fall shopping with a few transitional basics. Can’t wait to share these essentials with you!
After spending a few days in Denver, we drove to Colorado Springs and stayed in the Garden of the God valley at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort which has breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains.
The resort offers so many activities for the family from hiking, swimming, tennis to a huge fitness center and golf course. There are many local parks nearby such as the Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, the famous Cheyenne zoo and many trails to explore.
I felt so inspired and rejuvenated by the majestic beauty of the Colorado mountains. I’m more of a beach girl when it comes to summer vacationing, but this trip has definitely changed my mind about summer fun in the mountains!
What about you? Have you visited Colorado?
Enjoy the rest of your summer ! Hard to believe it’s almost over!
A bientôt ♥

My husband and I shared his family’s winter home in Aspen with some Navy friends on a cross country trip from California to Connecticut. It was grandeur on the left and endless vistas to the right! Wonderful memories.
Wow Judith, that does sound like wonderful memories! I’d love to go to Aspen in the winter. Let’s see what’s in the cards in this coming year.
Sounds like a good time!
It really was! Thanks for stopping by Nancy!
This looks like a great trip! I’ve been to Colorado and fell in love with it. I’ll definitely check out this hotel on my second trip.

You’d love the Halcyon hotel! Thanks for stopping by!
The location looks stunning and though I love beaching as much as possible in the summer, I also feel like being in the mountains and surrounded by natural beauty is good for the soul. If only we could just travel and not work, hahaha. Your vacay looks awesome.

Yes being in the mountains is so good for soul searching! Thanks for stopping by!
What a beautiful place you stayed, Christine. I think Colorodo is one of those places I would love to visit as I love the mountains. Your olive shorts with hat and tee are perfect for the summer heat and look great! Love the pic by the pool.
