French Chic Summer Essential: The Pinstriped Maxi Dress

A maxi dress is the perfect hot summer staple especially if you’re living in the 100 degrees heat and humidity like we’re having right now in Washington DC!

I’m loving the maxi dress boho chic trend this summer. So many styles to choose from: wrap, off-the-shoulder, cami and so many prints to choose from: floral, stripes or lace.

When it comes to refreshing my wardrobe with seasonal trends like a maxi dress, I prefer not to overspend and fast fashion shopping has become my new best friend!

Forever21 has such an amazing collection of maxi dresses this summer. The best part? They’re all affordable and the quality (to my surprise) is fairly good. Who knew fast fashion was chic fashion?

I have been wearing this pinstriped halter maxi dress on repeat since I bought it last week. 100% cotton made, it’s so light (and sexy) with its plunging v-neck and criss-cross cami straps. It’s a bit see through but who cares, it’s summer! This dress is so comfy and looks so chic that you can easily wear it from a day on the terrace to an elegant soirée.

I’ve also worn the dress as a skirt by simply folding the self-tie halter necklace and styled it with a cami and belt. Don’t you love a chic versatile staple?

You can dress up a maxi dress with wedge sandals or toss a denim jacket or cardi for those cooler nights.

Maxi dress are definitely this season’s go-to dress length for parties, weekends and even work (simply wear a blazer on top).
