I recently had the pleasure to go out for Happy Hour at The Yard at The Ritz-Carlton in historic Georgetown, Washington D.C.
Hubby and I go on dates frequently. In our 21 years of marriage – our wedding anniversary is coming up at the end of this month! – we’ve promised each other to always make time for one another, regardless of our work, travel and parenting obligations. It was pouring and stormy that night, but that didn’t stop us for going out! Because of the rain, we were not able to sit outside in the Yard but the staff at The Living Room (located in the lobby at the Ritz) were so accommodating that we still enjoyed our evening with live DJ lounge music and sipping on refreshing cocktails and savory bites.
While everything looks good on the menu, I first ordered the Confit Pesto Chicken Flatbread followed by the exquisite Mixed Red and White Tuna and Grapefruit Tartar. Hubby had the Local Prosciutto Wrapped Summer Salad followed by the traditional Beef Sliders Trio. As far as cocktails are concerned, I had to have The Frenchman (but of course!). It’s a mix of age rye whiskey, cognac and sweet vermouth. A pure delight! Hubby is more blend and just had a Cuban mojito.
The Yard is opened until late October. We can’t wait to go back when the temperatures are a bit cooler to enjoy early fall in DC. Happy Hour cocktails, wine and beer at the Yard Monday through Friday, 5pm -7pm, are half-priced with complimentary valet parking, so try to stop by for some chilled libations under the trees in the heart of historic Georgetown.
For the occasion, I went with an all black sleepwear inspired outfit. Sleepwear is a trend that I have quickly adopted this summer and plan on wearing when going out this fall. I just love a looser fit for an evening look, especially in the summer! Trust me, there’s nothing more comfortable than a satin camisole and wide pants! The best part is you get to sleep with your whole outfit when you get home 🙂
To complete this simple and elegant outfit, I picked these cute black and golden tassel earrings from Lou Lou boutiques. The Linda Hartman camisole is from Trousseau, a lingerie store located in my hometown in Vienna, VA and the pants are from Forever 21. The shoes are Steve Madden and the clutch is Tory Burch.
Hope you enjoyed this post. As always, thanks for reading.
A bientôt mes amis!
A huge thanks to The Living Room & TAA PR for hosting us!
