Stripes is a chic essential print that you should own in your spring wardrobe if you don’t already.
From the traditional sailor Breton top to a grey and white striped blouse, striped staples are one of my favorite spring and summer essentials. A lot of women think that wearing stripes is bold and make you look bigger. When worn the right way, stripes can actually be flattering on any body shape.
For this stripes on stripes chic outfit, I mixed and matched horizontal stripes with vertical stripes. Typically, horizontal stripes work best with tops like this metallic gold striped tee from J.Crew. The safest way to wear any stripes of any color though is to pair it down with neutrals. It can be more pleasing on the eyes. This soft metallic gold which is close to a neutral color complements the dark blue striped trousers quite nicely.
The wide leg striped trousers from 1.STATE is my ultimate favorite! The vertical stripes create the illusion of height and elongate your figure even more. These pants are great for the office too, especially in the hot summer days! I highly recommend this look for petite women who want to dress up and look taller and longer.
The camel suede chunky open-toed booties and suede crossbody complete the outfit nicely with warmer earth tones.
