How to Get a Parisian Chic Fall Wardrobe

Earlier this month, I shared how to get that effortless and chic fall weekend outfit with my favorite distressed skinny jeans, stripe bodysuit and worn-out olive jacket.

Mixing worn-out pieces with new ones is a key approach on how I refresh my wardrobe each season, especially in the fall and winter, with leather or denim staples that usually keep their shapes pretty well year after year. I have to admit that as a French woman, I prioritize quality over quantity. I rather buy a more expensive blouse that I know I will wear many seasons than 5 cheaper quality blouses that will end up in “closet cemetery”. When going shopping, I’m very selective as I’m looking to buy a new staple that will work with my existing wardrobe capsule. Think of a capsule as your seasonal outfits and essentials that you can mix and match to create different outfits.

With trends constantly changing and shifting, it’s important to know your style and refresh your wardrobe with a few trendy essentials. French women never let anything wear them. What makes a French woman stylish (and sexy) is the way she carries herself. The biggest faux-pas you can make is buying clothes off the rack that look stylish and expensive but don’t fit you well. If you want that effortless elegant look, you have to feel comfortable first so you can rock that “Je ne sais quoi” allure!

Here are a few essentials I added to my fall wardrobe to get that simple, Parisian chic look:

1. The Classic White Blouse

Accessories like a neutral and structured handbag is another great way to have Parisian style! Clean lines and a neutral palette with accent colors are the key to get that effortless elegant look.
